On behalf of the Canadian Center for Women’s Empowerment(CCFWE), I would like to invite you to a panel discussion entitled “From Surviving to Thriving: Inclusive Approaches to Ending Economic Abuse” with experts including Meseret Haileyesus, Founder and Executive Director of the Canadian Center for Women's Empowerment and Anita Vandenbeld, Member of Parliament for Ottawa West-Nepean. Other representatives from financial and legal institutions will share their insights and experiences navigating the ecosystem.

As November is Women Abuse Awareness Month, National Economic Abuse Awareness Month, and National Financial Literacy Month, the panel will shed light on the current global climate of financial and economic injustice and highlight ways the Canadian government and civil society can take active steps to assist survivors of economic abuse to help them thrive again.

 

To mark Economic Abuse Awareness Day on November 26, CCFWE will host an online panel discussion entitled “From Surviving to Thriving: Inclusive Approaches to Ending Economic Abuse” with panelists including:

  • Anita Vandenbeld, Member of Parliament, Ottawa West-Nepean
  • Alia Abaya, Director of Community Impact and Member Experience at Alterna Saving
  • Naomi Sayers, Lawyer and Notary Public
  • Meseret Haileyesus, Founder and Executive Director, CCFWE
